There was a small surprise when sixth rankedGigantes (4-3) won against their close opponent Piratas (0-10) in Carolina 104-99 on Tuesday. Carolina made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Strangely Quebradillas outrebounded Carolina 43-30 including 20 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Kristian Doolittle (201-1997, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) notched 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import guard Jaylen Nowell (193-1999, college: Washington) supported him with 21 points. Even 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by DR Congolese guard Emmanuel Mudiay (196-1996) did not help to save the game for Quebradillas . American forward Kendall Munson (206, college: Jacksonville) added 13 points and 14 rebounds. Four Carolina and five Quebradillas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Gigantes have a solid three-game winning streak. Carolina moved-up to third place. Loser Piratas still closes the standings with ten games lost.
